posting for a friend...

on his 99GT, he is planning a 75mm tb and wants to know if he can run a 85mm mass air. He said that an 80mm was suggested but wanted to know if it would hurt him to go with an 85mm instead. At the time, the car will have o/r X pipe and magnaflow magnapacks, along with a mac intake plenum and mac straight shot.
Thanks

80mm is stock and he should stick with that. The OEM MAF is good for well over 300 HP. See my sig for the 02 (85mm C&L MAF - REMOVED!)

Ditto! No need to change it out.

No need for a new MAF. That throttle body is too big also.

MAC makes plenums now??

I say tell your friend to keep the OEM mass air meter because it flow's
good and is good till a little over 300hp.Also the 75mm throttle body is
too big as Mogs pointed out it's over kill!Listen to Mogs he knows what
he's talking about.I wouldn't get any bigger than a 70mm throttle body.
Belive it or not but, the stock 65mm throttle body flow's more than enough
air to the engine than that is really needed.I don't think MAC makes intake
plenum's.If they did I never heard of them.
