I realize this is a beginnner question, but after reading the posts here for a few months, I'm still in the dark about something.

I've decided to go with an O/R x pipe for now, with my stock cat-back. When looking at different retailers online, some just specify what model and year, some just list by diameter. What size x-pipe would go well with a stock cat-back? Down the road, I am planning on either weld-in straight-thru mufflers, or an entire cat-back to match the X, if that matters.

Basically, what is the stock exhaust size, and would there be any benefit to going with larger pipe, given I am only aiming for ~300 RWHP NA for the foreseeable future (Cams, other bolt-on,s, etc.). I would rather get a pipe size that was better for a stock engine, and spend another couple hundred on a bigger X-pipe with a cat-back, rather than suffer with something in the who-knows-how-long meantime, if that is an issue. I just don't want to buy big ass pipes because I found a deal, and then realize I was an idiot.

if anyone has a brand they really want to suggest, go ahead. I know these things are a personal preference type of thing, so feel free to state yours (and why). Given the rather inexpensive nature of a O/R X, it seems silly to try to save $50 or so and suffer through a bitch of an install, or leaking connections, or whatever.

Thanks in advance.
