i was looking at drag radials but im not to sure if they will wear to easily... i need something that will last me atleast 5 months. these tires i have on now have gone like 7 months so far and only have another thousand or two left of on them.

these will be street tires and the car is pretty much a daily driver... right now i dont get traction till 4th gear.

Depends on your budget and size you want...I'm not an expert, but this is what I've pretty much came up with in my exact same search...Go to tire rack for more info.

315/35-17:
(Best Bet)
BFG DRs
Goodyear GS-D3s
(Cheaper alternative)
Sumitomo HTRs

285/40-17:
(Best bet)
BFG DRs
Goodyear GS-D3s
(Cheaper alternative)
Kumho MXs

Edit: Forgot about Nitto 555s

From chatting with people on the forums Ive heard that 315's may rub. Depends on the car and the exhaust. Probably just a little work with a hammer and grinder or some cutter will fix that. Dunno if yer up for that. Or you may be one of the many that dont have issues. I also should be getting some 17x10.5's soon. I am looking at 275 or 285 40's since I know those will fit. I know many people also run 275/40's up front, but Ive heard those can rub. Since I want to do a little auto-x and club track events I'll probly stick with 245's in front. I have had success with BFG's and Yokohama tires. The Nitto's are good but a drag radial wont last as long with its reduced tread depth, and not sure how well it will do now that winter is coming.

On my 03 Centennial Vert have 10.5 deep dish bullitts with Goodyear F1 GS-D3 315/35/17s and there is NO rubbing. No problems with clearance with either the stock catbacks or with Steeda catbacks (made by Borla). No rubbing with fenders at all. Grip both wet and dry is FANTASTIC!!! Here's a few pics.
Before (245/45/17 Gatorbacks)...

After (F1 GS-D3 315/35/17)

A$$ shot...

no he is correct but it is catback/wheel offset issue IMO. deadlurker had an issue with his bassani catback and 10.5 with 315's. There are many people running this setup with no problems so as long as the rim offset/ tailpipes are right they won't rub.

drop is not really going to matter. it is the passenger side tailpipe that is the issue. where it is at the tire is going to be by it no matter what your ride height.
