What style do you choose?

My car's black, and although chrome rims are nice on a black car, in some instances i wonder if it's just too much wheel. The aluminum is like a shiny, yet not as drastic look... still clean and crisp though...

I just found these headlights from www.procarparts.com
they were the 94-98 cobra heads and tails with the black rimming, something like $195. I was debating on those also.


Polished wheels are an absolute PITA to keep clean. Mine have a polished lip and chrome spokes and the spokes look 10x shinier and clean so much easier. I have water spots seemingly embedded into the aluminum lip and the chrome is crystal clean. Plus the aluminum lip is so soft that if I drop a lugnut on while swapping wheels it leaves a dent. :bs: Take it from me, stay with chrome or silver. If you like cleaning wheels or changing wheels often polished is great. :notnice:
 
i am close to the exterior look i am going for, except for needing a wing, fresh paint, and different emblems:

2" lowering springs
18" fr500s, 265/35/18 front, 285/35/18 rear
cobra hood with painted silver inserts
cobra front bumper
clear corners

Other than that I'll keep the look stock, I like the sleepers :D

So far I have a Bullitt shift knob, which really goes nice with my black interior
 
Money's my only issue at this point. Like some of the others, I'd rather be the one getting whiplash from the power, rather than giving whiplash to others when i pass. However, a nice ABC Cobra Front bumper, like Pete's, a Saleen rear and sideskirts would add a nice touch for when it's parked. The targa top that was mentioned is definitely in the works, on that note, I'm saving up for that at the moment, since it's been something I've been looking for a long time. Now that I found a kit with JMS motorsports, nothing's really stopping me except finances for the time being. :bang:

Anyone know a good comfort zone for lowering a car?
Like you can go as far down as you'd like, but I don't want to give away too much ride comfort. Someone was telling me 1 & 1/2 is good enough, but still has that smooth riding, 2, is a bit too much?
But I don't honestly think I can trust their judgement.
With the 18 saleen rims, I don't want to throw on springs, and make it look like she's still stock high... waste of cash.

mustangmatt685: the clear corners are alright too, but my headlights are older looking, and would probably need to be replaced if i do clear corners... i was looking at these ones:

mine is lowered 2" (intrax) and it is fine, except an occasional scrape on large speed bumps and steep driveways. i have bbk upper and lower control arms and it bottoms out rarely. my 1996 was lowered 2" (maxspeed) and stock control arms and it bottomed out alot more.

also, mine are 18" rims too.

Okay, so i should be okay then. Now i dunno, maybe it's just because I've heard good word, but the Eibach Sporlines, those i think go down 2" too, or close to rather...
see i like the way yours is, it's low enough so people will realize, but not too low to make it look dumb. I had 4 cylinder springs in my '92 5.0L - and the front was so far down, it would rub just a little bit if i turned the wheel all the way to one side. It looked real mean, don't get me wrong, but comfort was right out the window... no joke.

Doug, I disagree with jtkz13. I see you are from Ontario where I knwo you get snow and they salt the roads. I had a set of chrome wheels and the chrome flaked in a year of owning them. The reason I believe is the salt they put down over the winter. Ii didn't drive my car in it, but that residue stays on the road for a long time. I went with polished alum wheels because no matter how bad they get, with some elbow grease I can get them looking like new again. They do dent easily like he said though, and I have marked already to prove it from dropping a lug nut. :( Also, they scratch VERY easy, but they can be buffed out. I zoop sealed mine, but it hasn't lived up to its claims as far as I'm concerned.
 
Iv'e had mines for 6yrs...heres the lastest remodel..

New paint...HO CobraR hood, Cobra front bumper, S281 spoiler, ROH 18" Drift Rs....removed the badge holes in the fenders...got the FP gage on the cowl...

So far I'm liking it....Its a fairly common look...but this time its mine and its the one I wanted.... :D

im not to into apprearnce mods except Wheels and funtional stuff like cowl hoods.......

my car is getting painted next summer (hopefully)

Hm, as i figured... if i were to do the chrome wheels then i'd more or less have to wait till they washed the streets in like june. because you're right it's bad out here.
