Ok - I'm doing a rebuild on the trans and the little metal ID tag says "13-52-199"

Also, on the tailhousing it has "13-52-066-919" and the maincase has 13-52-065-908"

The 2nd gear has 31 teeth.

Is this a v8 trans or 4 banger?

The tag shows it to be a 90-91, V8 model T5 rated at 300ft/lbs of torque.
First gear = 3.35:1
Second gear 1.99:1
Thrid gear 1.33:1
Fourth gear 1:1
Fifth gear .68:1

My neighbor seems to believe 31 teeth on 2nd gear means it's a 4cyl (and someone put the original tag back on).....his wife's has 30 teeth on 2nd.

Can you comment on the teeth count?

31 teeth on 2nd gear IS a 90-93 v8 rated at 300 ft-lbs.

30 tooth 2nd gear is the 85-89 265 ft-lb version

Both versions are world class. The only Mustangs not to have a WC t-5 were the 1984 and early 1985 Mustangs. Ever since they've all been WC. It only refers to the use of 3-peice synchros and different bearings. That's all.
