what temperature t-stat for cold weather?

it seems like my car takes forever to warm up when its at or below freezing outside. if im not mistaken the stock t-stat is 197 degrees.
can i put something a little higher in so she warms up a little faster?

or what would be a good temp to set the low and high speed fans at with my xcal?

could i do one or the other or both?

thanks:nice:

the car won't warm up any faster with a different t-stat. leave it alone, there is really not much benefit for someone with your mods.

so youre telling me that if i put a higher t stat in, which waits longer to fully open, it wouldnt warm up quicker?

i dont plan on leaving it there during the summer either.

if anything i think the one in there is a 180 from the previous owner.

By the time your current one opens it is already warmed up. What I've found with mine is that in the winter fan temps have more of an effect on how fast it warms up than the tstat. Since you have a tuner, try bumping up all the fan temps and seel how much it helps.

the car will still take the same amount of time to hit 180* no matter if you have a 180* t-stat or a 192*. with the stock one, the engine will just get 12* hotter.

Yo!!! Haven't talked to you in a while!!!:D Man....just walk your butt outside 10 minutes before you get in it and she will be roasting by the time your ready to leave!!!!:D

p.s....Where the heck ya been?

One thing i've always liked about my car is that the heat starts to blow warm fairly quickly.

Usually when it's around 32 degrees, i only need to drive a mile or two before i can start feeling some warmth from the vents.

Of course when it's 0-10 degrees...everything takes forever to warm up :(
