What the difference between a 93 Cobra rearend and a regular mustang 8.8 rearend?

Hey stangbear427,

You are one of the idiots that I was talking about that should keep their mouth shut. I have read plenty of flase information coming from your posts. Get your facts straight or sell your computer.

Chill out. We all make mistakes when posting. It's part of the learning process. If somebody says something wrong then correct them. Simple as that. :notnice:

Duece, do you have an anger problem? Did I kill your dog in another life? You drop out of the sky into this post, ranting about what pisses you off, throw insults and profanity, and the only productive thing you have to offer is someone else's information? Yes, we all like Matt and respect him, he's pretty much always right on and it was nice of him to stop in. He's either a glutton for punishment or he just likes it here, since he's been putting up with all us idiots for over three years and keeps posting. I happen to like it here too despite how imperfect this site is, which is why I've spent hours of my life on it. I think the dozens of times I've emptied my inbox of thank you's far offsets the handful of times in the better part of 2K posts that I've been off, which were opportunities to learn and I'm glad they came up, just like this one. My answer here may have been 50% wrong, but it was also 50% correct- and If I hadn't opened my ignorant mouth it wouldn't be 100% correct now. If you don't like it here or simply can't control yourself when others irritate you, there are lots of other sites to try- but I think you'll find it's the same pretty much everywhere; and there will always be people going under the speed limit in the passing lane. That's life... enjoy.

Basically I have my car off the road, want to redo the suspension and switch to 5 lug and upgrade the brakes also -- getting rid of the drums:nonono:

Has anyone on here used the 99+ spindle on their fox? I want to get the 13" vented rotors and cobra brake kit. Is it better to go with the 94-8 spindle? Was there any mods you had to do?

The strut mount is the same from 79-2004 correct?

I have a Qa1 Kmember and coilover kit I am putting on, just want to make sure that they are the same, I need it to work with the kit. I will have to call Racer Walsh tomorrow to confirm this, I will post the results of our convo.

As far as the rearend is concerned, I think I will go with a 94-8 V6 axle and add the cobra brake kit w/ the 94-98 Cobra 11.65" vented rotors. Anyone done this? What is your experience with this setup? What mods were needed for this?

Find yourself a set of 94-95 spindles. They will keep your front track the same as stock. The 96+ will create a wider front track. I have 95 gt spindles with 13" brakes and everything went together fine.

The struts from 79-04 are not all the same. I don't know the exact differences, but I do know they are different.

Aren't V6 rear ends 7.5's? You're gonna want an 8.8 rear end.

Dude, Chillax. It's the internet....C'est La Vie.

I can hardly remember this thread!! Stangbear427 and I have since reconciliated our differences. He is a great guy. He has shown genuine interest in helping me with my clutch issue, (which I have yet to fix), and I truly appreciate his help.

I didn't get racer walsh called, too much other crap I am doing -catching up on paying bills was today and part of tomorrow.

that website listed in the beginning said they are the same?! I will double check this. Are f150 axles the same? I know depending on what you have tranny wise will determine the gearing, but ???

Heh! Wow. Was I surprised to see this thread come up in my inbox again. Yeah, kindof a lot's happened since then... water over the dam.
Get on that clutch Deuce... it's Mustang season!
ON topic:
I have nothing else productive to add to this thread.

*edit: wait, yes I do. Anything you need to know about this can be learned by following the link Deuce posted on page 1. If the application you have in mind isn't there, then it isn't relevant. It was Deuce's attitude that rankled me oh-so-long ago, not his info... IMO his post was actually the most valuable one in this thread.
