My car came with 17x9 Cobra rims, I recently changed the tires and we just went with the stock 245/45/17 tires b/c me and the guys at the shop figured that the original bullits were also 17x9 so thats the size. A few days ago I learned that the stock bullits are actually 17x8...... so if the cobra rims that are on now are 17x9, does this mean I could have gone with a wider tire???? If so im gonna be kickin myself in the ass for this one. Dont tell me I could have gotten a 275.... those look awesome.

275 fits great... have them on my 02 with no rubbing.. however, they barely fit in the fenderwell... if I was going to do it again, I'd do 265s to tuck them in just a little more... but it might be that Dunlops are just a little wider. The spray on the side of the car from them is ticking me off.

I vote for my Eagle F1 DS-G3
275/35/18 on 18x9.5 ADR rims all four corners

yep 275 is perfect for a 17 x 9

As in a 275/40-17? It fits okay?

I know that TireRack prefers a combo of 245/45-17 (front) and a 265/40-17 (rear) set up...if you're not planning on doing tire rotations, but to me it seems like a 275/40-17 is a closer match on the overall tire height.
