I have a few questions on what I should do next. I am planning on supercharging my 2000 GT sooner or later and have some spare cash sitting around burning a hole in my pocket. So far, I have 3.73’s, CAI, UD pulleys’, 70 mm TB and a Dynomax Cat back. I have LT’s waiting to go in in two weeks. My questions are these.

1. Should I get a port and polish done on my heads and up-grade my cams? If so, what is a good cam to go with? Like I said I will be supercharging it soon so a good middle of the road cam is what I am looking for. If I change my cams, will I need to change my springs and such with them? The motor has less than 40K on it.

OR

2. Should I go ahead and get the cams, NOT do the P&P and upgrade my suspension?

OR

3. Not even do cams and do something totally different.

I figure I have about $900 or so to spend and I want to make it worthwhile. I found a guy that has a flow bench and will do my heads for about $600 or so. Any help would be good to know. I have thought about getting the clutch and other things upgraded but as you can see, I am at a loss. Thanks again for the help.

Just my $.01 here, but with $900 you're limiting yourself to (2) or (3). I wouldn't let some guy do my heads (even if they have a flowbench). I would only let one of the "big" guys touch my heads. These heads aren't the same as pushrod heads. The same tactics don't necessarily work.

If it were me, I'd do one of the following:

1. Get some VT Engine cams and Comp Cams springs. Bill P. installed their Stage I cams and picked up 22rwhp. That's a pretty good mod in my boat. They can also set you up with a tailored cam for your application. If you do all of the labor yourself, you're looking at about $900.

2. Set up the suspension to handle the supercharger. Pick up some quality LCAs, tires, and subframe connectors.
