My AODE is crapping out on me and I am going to put a manual tranny in. I am wondering which tranny will be the best for it. Not sure about putting a T-5 in since I plan for a lot of mods and a lot more hp so which would be the best? Thanks.:SNSign:

I have been looking at some kits at D&D Performance. Are their kits good? I have heard some good things about them and wondering if they are reliable. Not sure whether I am going to swap in a TKO-500 or T56.

what the hell do the control arms have to do with the swap????

I have seen people beat the hell out of the t-56 and it lives to tell the tale. A few people here have the 500/600 and it has done well. IDK what I will do when the time comes, I am between the two right now.

It lets you adjust the pinion angle, to get rid of the high speed vibrations that most people have a problem with when doing the TKO swap. I guess you never saw those threads before?

i have the d&d T56 in my car and i find it to be a great tranny.

shifting is smooth, fifth gear is actually useful, and it has handled everything i have thrown at it.

you will not be disappointed in the T56.

I always see a lot of votes for the Tremec trannies like the TKO and such, but how about for those built up G-force T5s? They seem to be able to handle similar power to the TKO and have some nice features and upgrades to them as well. Especially for the freeway cruiser they come standard with a .59 ratio overdrive. Anybody running a g-force here and like to give us some insight?

TKO is a great trans.Only problem is no one has really figured out the high speed vibration yet.

UM..give this guy 1000points! I have been wondering about this for a long time and did not see this on any former threads.

In case anyone missed it. Vibration problem answer: Different bellhousing and drive shaft yoke, longer driveshaft, and adjustable upper control arms

p.s. "different drive shaft yoke" = ? Thanks.

G Force gives you gear ratio options where Tremec doesn't. Plus with the G Force you don't have all the install headaches. It'll bolt right in just like a T5 and it's lighter than the Tremec. Slider options are there too if you wanted one for the street, drag or road racing. Check them out.

When you buy the kit ,it comes with the correct yoke and Tremec bellhousing. I got mine at http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/Default.asp

Good prices, great customer service, and the best shipping and packaging I've seen yet

I looked at the G-Force and say that I am quite impressed. What gear set is good to get? Any difference in bellhousing? I like that it has .59 gear ratio for O/D. I am assuming that installation is the same as a regular T-5 swap. If not can you let me know what is different. Sorry for all the questions. I am just ready to get the AODE out of there. Thanks :SNSign:

I'd say talk to G Force and see what they say because I don't want to steer another gearhead wrong. Physically, it'll bolt in just like a regular T5, not like a Tremec that needs a different yoke, crossmember and so on. The bellhousing should be the same, just go with a good aftermarket and a good clutch.

G-Force here and It is a pretty stout tranny. I have no had the opportunity to really beat the snot out of it but it has great street manners and shifts very nicely. Only complaint is when the tranny is cold (below 45 degrees), it grinds into some gears until it completely warms up (5-10 min of driving), than it shifts like a warm knife through butter!

Easy installation too, pull the stock one out, put the new one in. Done!

After I posted this, I started thinking about that. But I haven't paid much attention to those threads b/c I am a ways away from affording a new trans...and to you sir, I say
