What Was Your First Car And How Much Did You Pay For It???

1972 Ford Pinto wagon- white w/orange plaid interior, 2000cc 4cyl, auto. $75

was back in 1983, I was 16 and one month. I'd saved 2 paychecks, and after paying for insurance I had $90 left over. Grabbed the Sunday classified adds from the Louisville Courier-Journal and went down the list until I found a car under $100. It broke down on the way home and I started to learn about fixing cars :)

1979 Ford Mustang hatch, gray with red interior, V8 auto, $100.00

Mom bought my first car for me, when I was 19. I came home from a long grueling shift, at the local Pizza Hut. Mustang was parked in the driveway with all my belongings in it. It was her way of saying, get the hell out. The next day I jumped in, headed south to Wisconsin. Never looked back. That's the best thing she could've done for me. I'd probably be in prison, if she didn't.

That mustang lasted me for 2 years, before the rear end went out. I loved that car. Drove it like a 3 speed manual. Sold it for $200, doubling moms investment

I kinda had three first cars. I was16 and mowed grass to save money plus a fast food job. Bought two84 celica gts that I paid250 for both and a89 that was given to me. Wrecked the cutlass and one of the gts. Ended up driving the remaining gt for two years and Tripeled my money from all three by selling one car lol.

1990 Mercury Topaz. paid 1000 bucks for it. only one out of 4 windows worked. no AC. black steering wheel glue would ooze between the leather in the summer heat and so i had to have a rag on standby everywhere I went.

1966 Pontiac Ventura 2 door. It had a 389, TH400 and a 3:90 posi. Not a lot of HP but tons of torque. It was basically the size of an El Dorado. I paid $400 for it back in 1980. Got rid of it for an AMC Javelin. I saw the Ventura being driven by some High School kids for quite a few years. They must have passed it down to other family. The Javelin's oil pump failed on me long before I stopped seeing my old Pontiac.

1976 Gran Tornio 4dr. 351M and that's about all I remember about it. other than the fact that I mangaged to get it on 2 wheels on a dirt road and didn't die...also he fact that if it rained, you might as well stand outside of the car....you'd get less wet. the rust was epic.

1995 Mustang GT. Paid $0 for it out of my pocket but my grandfather paid around $20,000 for it in 1996 for me when I was 14. I worked my ass of for him for about two years for buying the car and he died a few months before I turned 16. Still own the car to this day.
