hey, i have an 01 gt. i just got it. it is bone stock right now. I would like to put some wheels on it. it has bullet wheels now and well every other mustang has the bullet wheels. so i am looking to get some new wheels to help distinguish my car from others. any suggestions? also i found a set of cobra r wheels that are 20x8.5. my questions is would they fit on car or would there be rub/clearance issues?
i don't want anything that would look out of place or like it belongs on an import. just something bigger and different.
i have alot of plans for it but i am on a tight college budget. any suggestions would be apreciated.
thx

please don't put 20" rims on your stang. The biggest i would go is 19'' and thats if you get custom 3-piece high-end wheels. 20's will slow you down like mad. Get some 18'' rims and youll have looks and speed. Just lower your stang and theyll look even bigger.

lower it and run some 18 inch bullitts , and 18 inch FR500s , if you put 20s on it , we will track you down and beat you LOL .......IMO 20s belong on escalades not mustangs......

I would go with some deep dish bullitts or FR500's.

18" 2k Cobra Rs look sweet, but I would definitely match them with some lowering springs at the same time, or even before you get your wheels. performancewheeloutlet.com has a good selection of inexpensive replicas. Post pics when you get em on! (Unless you put 20s on, then I don't want to see it...)

Here's the ones I'm thinking of:

Now there is PURE wisdom. The most wicked-looking wheels to me are your stock 17's up front, with deep-dish 17-inch bullitt rears riding with 315/35's.

Go with some skinnies up front and some 10" wide in back. Get that race type of look. Check out the centerline convo pros.

I'm going to be putting on some 15" weld drag lites on mine. Skinnies up front and 10" drag radials out back! I like big rubber more than big bling ya heard!

wtf 20 inch look phat on stangs
and you can still lower your car.
sure it robs you of horse power but it would look tight on anything
bonspeed in a 20

you can do 20 s but your car might look a little goofy cause it makes it sit taller
go with anything bonspeed , like the crokus
im on 19 s and get compliments all the time. lowered 2inch and no rub

I wouldn't go more than 18's. I had a noticeable decrease in performance going from 17's to 18's. Just my .02.

I've seen 20's that looked nice on a stang, but they were custom made bullits in mm+ff on a bullit, they had to massage the wheel wells to make it fit. For the most part 20's look ghetto and will kill your 60' times. I'd go with 18's I like my cobra r's but if I did it again I'd probably go with chrome fr500's.

anything over an 18" IMO looks retarded. A mustang isnt an SUV its a performance car.

My pick would be 17X10.5 bullits out back with some 315's.
