I have no idea how long its been like this, but i noticed it when I put my new rims on (18x10's) out back. The drivers side rear rim is about even with the rear fender. Matter of fact, it rubs when i go up a driveway sideways. However, the Passengerside rear, is tucked in about an inch. No rubbing at all obviously. What would cause this? I checked my torque boxes, and nothing seems broken our out of place. Kinda has me puzzled here.
What would cause one this rear end issue...

Lol i have a smilar thing on my front wheels. One is out further than the other. I does the pumpkin seem to be further to one side or the other?

The rear end doesn't have any "alignment" so to speak. If it's off, then you might have "frame" damage, like the unibody is tweaked or something. Was the car ever in an accident?
Or maybe the guy at the factory who was laying your body down in the frame forgot his measuring tape at home and just winged it that day....

Check the upper arm bushings for wear. If only one side is pretty worn it will allow the rear to be offset to one side.
As Scott said, it is not unusual to have one side off a hair (unless the rear was located with a panhard, etc). Generally till wheels that fit near flush to the fender are installed, it is unnoticed.
In stock form:
"Hey Bob, did you notice that the gap between my fender and tire is 3 feet-2 inches on one side, and 3 feet-3 inches on the other side?"

I have a similar problem, barely noticable, but after I noticed it, I've noticed other stangs have similar problems. Car fax on my car show no accidents, 3rd owner, nothing that I could see underneath,
Guess I'll look into bushings, but the problem is kinda annoying.

You guy's might call crapola on this but, i talked with the guy who built my tranny and he said on these S/N cars that some came like this from the factory and others didnt? I looked at his and it was then i looked at mine and it's an even distance on both sides, another buddy of mine has a vert 95 and his is off alittle? Dont ask me but thats just how it is. This guy noticed it when he was gonna buy a saleen and seen this and thought it had been wrecked! Nope one of the options that came out from the factory
