What would you do?

I can't really decide whether to get a maaco type paint job, or a vortech supercharger with gt-40 intake for 1200.00. I would rather get it painted but the estimates I got are from 1,800-3,500. speaking of Maaco, how good are they really, I have'nt been there yet?

if you got a friend in there you can actually get a decent paint job, the prob with maaco is they dont spend anytime on prep so the final product looks like doo doo and wont last very long

You could buy a large air compressor, mines 30 gal, and a decent gun and paint it yourself! That's what I did, and it turned out great
Then you would have a lot of money left over towards the S/C

How would you define great?

Good enough that people were asking me to paint their cars for 800 bucks. I know its not PERFECT but it only cost me 200 bucks total and that is including paint and supplies, sure beats driving a typical foxbody I see in the Northern states, rust + crappy paint.

Personally, I would rather save a little more and get a decent paint job.
