Whats a good T5 shifter?

MGW is awesome. Pro-50 is really good and so is the Tri-Axe. Those are the three I would choose from, MGW being the one I liked the most but it really comes to personal preference.

I have the Steeda Tri-Ax in my '98 Cobra. I've tried all three (Tri-Ax, Pro-5.0, and MGW) and they're all a vast improvement performance-wise over the stock shifter, but I felt the Steeda had a slightly more solid, robust feel than the other two. On the other hand, I've heard others say it felt too "notchy", which they are all to an extent over the stock shifter.
But if you're comfortable with more gear noise (these shifters transmit gear noise already present but not audible with the stock unit), and are looking for very firm feel, I'd give the nod to any one of these three.

I have a B&M Ripper in one car, and a UPR in the other, and I absolutely love the UPR. It was only 120 brand new, has shorter throws than the ripper, and feels more solid. I can't believe no one else on this thread has used one.
In fact, I'm about to buy another UPR and ditch the Ripper.

way to kill me there on the b&m haha... for the price it isnt bad, you paid 120 and i paid 60 so you get what you pay for...each for their own vaule

You should check out the D&D shifter. Those guys really know trannies. I have a Pro5.0 and it's fine. I had to trim the shifter opening to get it through because the tower is fairly wide. If you can get a quality shifter with smaller tower, would definitely consider it. Make sure it has stops. The major cause for T-5 failure is damaged forks from aggressive "overshifting".
