Electrical What's inside a TFI module? (Gut pictures inside)

I realize this thread is a lil dated but its still active so I figured I add some info aswell as maybe ask for some too....

What Id like to see is what the difference between an automatic and a manual TFI module looks like inside for the aftermarkets...

I see noone is too curious whats behind the cooling plate and all Ill say is that those lil wires go through unseen holes on the plate. but this one relys on a press fit to ground the grounding pins.

This one is a Jegs module #40606...Its made for manual transmissions yet the color isnt gray...The plate popped off after hitting the shop floor..LOL

Automatics are #40605...





It makes me wonder just how important the thermal grease is over having an active fan because one thing I noticed was that my F250 PU had a fan w/fanclutch and the module was 100% original and lasted 287,000 miles until I removed the stock fan setup and put an electric fan to free-up HP,,


Once I made a thermal barrier to stop the heat of the engine from heating it up I never cooked another module and have been making and putting them on all my vehicles....All it is -is foil faced bubble wrap called a Thermal blanket and some aluminum foil tape..





I already know what the different versions of the 35369 looks like but whats funny is when you go on the websites it states that the gray is for stickshifts and the black is for automatics but when I look for a TFI module at a store like AutoZone one module works both Pushstart and CCD systems yet the aftermarkets have two different types..

My biggest problem is that not even ACCEL can seem to know theres a difference between gray and black and makes the same module in both colors and even different weights....

Who's mess around with the air bag modules? Was sorting threw my parts pile and decided to Crack open one i know was flashing a code from my 93, dont remember which though. There a bit more complicated then the ecu's lol. The thermal fuse is under the rectangle white and black plastic piece, can actually still buy them. So might screw around with it later see if i can't get it functional.

Has anyone found a place servicing these old things yet, gott as be plenty in need with all the fox body and obs f150's out there still.

Google airbagsystems.com or something along those lines. I believe they repair airbag modules.
