yes they do, i cant recommend a model for you, cuz im not familar with their names. I use the Auburn pro, which is a little overkill on a street car, but holds a hellacious amount of power
Does anyone else have any other opinions on a diff, i want to try and order one tonight if i can, also whats the best quality gear set to get? are they all pretty much the same?
sureshot is right Auburn is one bad ass diff and would be at the top of my list. i guess it depends on what type of driving you are gonna do on the side of commuting... drag? autocross? i do alot of autocross stuff so i went with a tractech detroit locker which doesnt use any clutches at all...actually is uses gears and a scroll worm. most non-locker type differentials can be had for abotu $350-$400... detroit lockers run a bit more and are kinda noisy and ratchety. call the guys at steeda... they carry most of the brands and would be more than happy to offer their words of wisdom and expertise. they recommended the tractech for my application... its the same diff they use in their #20 car. :worship: . its easy to say that you will be satisfied with most of the choices that are out there. the most practical would be eaton or auburn in my opinion. hell, i know alot of guys who were impressed with just rebuilding their orginal traction-lok with a $40 kit. let us know what u decide on doing and keep us posted on how well ur decision performs i am always keen on hearing 1st hand reviews of stuff
oh yeah... and ford racing makes some pretty good gears. for their price, i think they are hard to beat
well the car for the most part will only be on the street, mabye a few drag track visits a year but nothin to serious. can anyone link me to the auburn site or any recomended part numbers?
like i said earlier, i would recommed that u go with auburn or eaton for a street car... my tractech is just way to much overkill for a street car. check out their sites and see the DIFFERENT features that each has to offer. the designs of these diffs are all unique in the own way. as far as part #'s go... i would still give a company like steeda a call because chances are most of these manufacturers have different application specific diffs.. like OE style and performance. your best bet is to purchase one from a company that specializes in cars like the mustang, who possibly have experience and expertise in drivetrain components. i hope i helped a little... dont give yourself a huge headache over the matter. i am positive that you would be PERFECTLY satisfied by buying one of the three that i listed. yes, they are different, but only hardcore racers and stuff could tell u the ups / downs. for a street / weekend warrior they all shoud suffice.
I don't see why you need to go away from the stock Trac-Lok. Rebuild it tighter and it will cost you $50 and hold up to quite a bit of power without problems.
