What's the widest tire that will fit on 18" 2011/12 rim?

The stock 235's just aren't going to cut it. I think these are 18x8's. 285/40/18 Nitto Dr's are close to stock revolution so the speedo will not be off. These will go on the back and keep the stock 235's up front. Anyone tried these or this wide?

These are the ones that are going to fit without issues: NITTO Extreme Performance NT05R Drag Radial (285/40-18) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping! A custom tune will take care of any speedometer readings.

We went 11.76 @ 119 or 120 MPH (i forget) on those with just bolt-ons (4.10, Off Road X-Pipe and Bama 93 Race Tune / Airaid CAI) and heavy ass 18x9 and 18x10 Bullitt wheels.

They worked out really nicely at 15-20 PSI.

YouTube - AmericanMuscle 2011 Mustang GT 5.0L 4V Runs 10.93 @ 125 MPH

I had a set of OEM GT500 wheels on my 07. They were 18 x 9.5 and had 285s on the back. Are you sure a stock 8 inch wide rim will take that wide of a tire?

I'm not doubting you, I'm just kinda excited...as...

My new car has the Brembo wheel, which is 19 x 9.0...and comes with a 255/40/19. I was hoping I could get a 275 on all corners if possible.
