Should I hate these guys or what Im confused, I watched Pinks Marathon the other day, with that Ricer vs that Nice foxbody with the flames on it. Im like yeah kick that Ricers ass. Then they pop the hood to see a Chevy 350, I instantly thought, I hope the ricer wins. Whats your thoughts on it?

It sickens me to see it. I understand chevy motors are a ton cheaper to build, but if youre going to do that, buy a mullet mobile to put it in. dont bastardize the poor car.

i agree with you, i hate people that do that if you buy a ford you use a ford, not a damn chevy. but i do have to admit chevy does have some bad a$$ motors (LS1) and did you see the one yellow ricer that had an LS1 in his car now thats bad a$$ but still your orginal thought i agree with 100%

yeah the funny part is 95% of those guys that put chevy motors in old school ford's, just about always run ford 9" rears. if you are gonna put a chevy motor in a stang at least go with something clever like a 572 bb, not a damn 350 like u find in every single other chevy in the world.

86, thats the major travisty. I hate seeing these classic Ford hotrods with Chevy power plants. Ugh.

As far as in a fox? WHY!?!?! If I was gonna drop an engine in a fox that didn't belong there, it'd be an 03 Cobra supercharged engine.

I think one of the main reasons you see small block chevy engines in fox drag cars is because that's what's cheap, effective, and what the person had. Say you're building a drag car, and come across a roller notch, which being light, would make an excellent drag car. Sure, you could hunt down a Ford shortblock and split it in half at 500hp, or put out big money for a dart block. Or, you could just drop in the sbc and have a fast cheap car. I'm kind of a Chevy guy that loves Mustangs. I say, fox=perfect platform, chevy=best powerplants.

I like it.... it just says to me that the poor 350 hates riding in chevy bodys.

The guy who owns the shop that is building my short block 357W.... build a 350 for his son and put it in a 91 coupe. I asked why and he said him & his son love the fox and it is a great body for racing.

When it comes down to it... CC's are CC's but Mustangs are Mustangs.

Personally I think a ford engine belongs in a ford car. Yes an ls1 may be a better, newer design then the windsor ford but why give them any more reasons to brag about the damn motor. You can make more power then you can handle with a ford motor. The sbc's main better feature in design is jus the fact that the blocks are stronger. I never liked the idea of the valve arrangement on a sbc. I think the 5.0 engines sound bettter also. How much cheaper is a sbc really? I doubt its all that much. Im also a fan of the eec 4 system and the layout of the windsor engine. Call me a fuel inj lover so to speak. Just count me as a ford guy and a believer that ford engines belong in ford cars and chevy engines belong in chevy cars.

I would normally say i didnt like it, but put brand loyalty and all that aside. Its actually a smart thing to do. That notch that was on here with a basically stock ls1 was very fast at the track. now throw a few mods on it and it will beat a ford motor with basically the same stuff. And you can get they easily and for not a ton of money.

a 350 in a mustang is like haveing a cat that barks
You ever have one of those stories that you're afraid to tell because you KNOW that nobody's gonna believe you? Well, you just triggered one of those. Believe it or not, I have a cat that occasionally barks. I swear it's a dog trapped in a cat's body. She is also trained. So far, on demand, it will speak, lay down, fetch, and stand up. I need to get a video of it.

Anyway, back to topic .... I think it is the stupidest thing to mix breed cars. Seems like every rod you see (i.e. '32 Ford's) have a SBC in them. Granted, many are kit cars .... but some are not. When I go to a show & see one (unmistakeable headers), I intentionally point, laugh out loud, and keep walking without taking a second look.

Well this is amusing....

Im in sort of this situation myself with my bracket car Im building, lol.

SBF or BBC? I got parts to build a 302 based small block (stroker of course),but with a stock block. Or.... I could put togther a BBC for a little more.
