what do you folks think about these deals? if i go with the 17" what would be the correct back spacing and what would be the best tire size for my '68 coupe?

Looks like they would be just about right. My mom has a '68 coupe and she just got 16x8 with 4.5" backspacing and 235 wide by 50 tall tires and they rub on the driver side rear qtr, but it's easily fixed by bending the lip up. Front doesn't rub but looks a little tight if she were to lower the front end at all.

I'm currently running 17x8's with 235 x 45 tires that fit fine, but I'm not sure what the backspacing is since it's a 1996 GT wheel and I'm using a 1" wheel adapter.

On Friday I'm going to order a set of 17x8 wheels for my '68 with 4.75" backspacing. I'll use my existing tires (235x45)

Hope that helps...

I loved my Cragar SS's back in the day, but it seems now I remember them being fairly heavy and chrome plated, not polished aluminum. Am I wrong or have they changed?
