Wheel questions: Will 15x8's fit in the front?

Hey vdub I put 15x8 magnums all around on my 69 with 245/60s up front and 275/60s out back. Let me tell you they look great BUT the fronts rub in the most vile way it's almost a drag to drive it....almost They rub with anything more than a 90 degree turn. They are about an inch to wide and will not clear the front valence; at least on my car. U-turns are just about impossible and the extra width is just not worth it. I wish i would have come here and asked one of the many experts on this forum before i made my choice. By the way the 275's on rear look mean and fitted without a hitch. I will work on getting a pic uploaded if you like.

I think anything smaller than a 245/60 on a 15x8 would probably work, 15x7s will work for sure. I think i just went a little too far. If would have went with a 225/60 if still wanted the tire height to be similar it would have fit or if i wanted the width a 245/50 would have worked too but i had to have it all and am now paying for it literally especially considering my suspension is stock, all though completely refreshed front to back. Now am not positive on this but i think the shelby mod will give some more clearance. I sure hope someone else who knows for sure will chime in because I too am curious if it will work....anything to avoid having to buy two new front tires as my current tires have at the most a 100 miles on them. And oh yeah 15x7 front and 15x8 is perfect in fact my current wheels were offered in that combo but i opted for the 15x8's all around..... it burns me up every time a grind my freshly painted and now slightly damaged front valence.

Also can you post pictures of old stangs, that have like 17 inch rims. I think that with a smaller wheel, but wider, and big tire they look better. Just post some pics of 17inch rims on a stang.

15x8 isn't your issue. It is the backspacing that gets you. I am running 16x8 front and rear with 235/50/16 in the rear and 225/50/16 up front. The BS is 4.5 inches which is the max recommended for our ponies.

Exactly what he said. Your back spacing should be 4.5. As for your lug question. Do you have a 4 or 5 lug?

you decide on the wheel you want and order it, taking care that it has no more than a 4.5 inch BS. The vintage wheel works 16x8 wheels come in 4.5 inch BS. Other 16x8s can be ordered with a custom BS specified by the customer. If you want 15x8s, this should should not be a problem. For example, American Racing Torq Thruster II wheels in 15x8 have a 3.75 inch BS. You measure a wheel's BS thusly;

1. With the tire on, take the wheel off and place it face down on the ground.
2. Place a straight edge something-or-other across the wheel.
3. measure from the center of the wheel to your straight edge
