wheel size - 18's in front, 20's in rear?

I've looked high and low for a visual aid on this idea. I'm getting set to get some fat tires for the rear but want to match my 18" bullits on the front. So then I wonder if I should get the 18" deep dish or the 20" deep dish for the rea...I like the idea of it having a more aggressive (higher) rear, but I'm worried that might be too high. Has anybody seen how the s197 looks with a 2" difference between front/rear wheels? Better yet, anybody have a pic?

I wouldn't go with that much of a difference. 1 inch is quite noticeable. 2 inches would be too much for sure. Instead of doing 2 different wheel diameters, have you considered just a meatier tire out back? I'm running 18x9 front and 18x10 rear. On the front I have 255/45/18 (about as close to stock height as you can get), and 295/45/18 rear. The rear DEFINITELY looks meaty.

Ahh, no I hadn't even thought about that...and that's definitely more the look I'm trying to achieve too, thanks for uploading the pics. That's a sharp ride DarkFire thanks for the advice!

You gotta watch out for that guy, DarkFire...he sure can help point you in the right direction
I wouldn't go 18/20 combo just for agressiveness. The only way to achieve that is a wider taller tire and you may be displeased with the wide 20" tire that is no taller than the stock 18.

HEAVYGT is running the OEM 17" Bullitt in the front and a big meaty tire on an aftermarket 18" Bullitt in the rear and looks really good as well!

305/35-18

I'm still decently new to understanding tire sizing...so would a 305/35-18 be even meatier than darkfire's 295/45-18?

It would be wider by 4/10's of an inch but have just over 1" shorter sidewall. Discount tire direct has a tire size calculator that will show you the size differences in different tire sizes, including speedometer error. It works pretty well to get an idea of what the sizes look like.

The 305/35 will be much shorter than the 295/45.
305 x .35 = 106 mm sidewall
295 x .45 = 132 mm sidewall
That is 1" for the top AND the bottom. That means the 305/35-18 is just over 26" tall overall.

Another advantage to meatier tires in the rear would be improved ride. The taller the sidewall, the more comfy...
