Dear Technical Gurus and Mustang enthusiasts,

accidentally i bought wheels which are 8" width as looking on the picture it does not fill the front or rear wheel wells. My car is 2010 GT.
As far as i know i can add a spacers to fill up the gap. I want them for front wheels and for rear wheels.
Mostly they are being installed on rear.

Although there could be some issues for front mounting of spacers i will go 1.5" for all wheels. i know that front wells are capable of fitting inside up to 9.5" inch widtt wheel. so i think it should be ok (1,5" spacer + 8" wheel)

looking forward to hearing your experience. Does it affect performance and to what extent. thanks in advance

You dont want to put spacers on a 2010 GT, thats just crazy.
Sale or trade for the proper wheels that have the right offset.
Do you still have the OEM wheels??? Do business with experts.

I have original ford 19" wheels had 19x8.5" with offset 50mm.
My newly bought 20" wheels have 20x8" with offset 32mm

those originals already look thin, but the new 20" are even thinner so i was thinking spacer option. Why you think it is bad idea about the spacer?

Well thats a high tech expensive car, and if you can afford it you should
have the wheels that are designed for it. Adding spacers will add unnessary
weight and a additional point of failure. With 1.5 spacers the studs will be too
short requiring longer studs, or running the type of spacers that bolt to the
original studs. Too much added crap.

Why dont you just return the wheels? Take the 15% restocking fee or whatever and buy yourself the correct set. If you bought them locally, resell them on craigslist or ebay.

I'm failing to see how adding a spacer will fix that problem I agree with the above, return or sell the wheels you bought, and do some research so you buy wheels that will fit next time...

I've always heard that spacers were a no-no.

Spacers add weak points, 2 extra rub points, etc. They're not the way to do it right. You also run the risk of some tire shop not knowing what they are for and tossing them aside., or swapping out a flat and forgetting to pay attention. All kinds of potential here for failure.
