Hey every1...I want to get some wheel spacers for the rear of my 95 GT since Im tired of it looking like the front wheels stick out more than the rear, even with them being 17x10.5's with 315's:nonono: ....u guys know how the 94-98 rear end is 1.5 inches narrower than the 99-04's & 17x9's always look like they stick out in the front on the SN95's....Anyway, I was wondering what size u guys would recommend getting for the rear....I was thinkin @ the minimum 1/2 inch, but maybe more... I basically want the rear to be flush with the fronts.....Thanks....& hopefully this is considered a TECH question, if its not, than sorry!!!!

heres a few pics so u can see what I mean....

You can put a 1/4" spacer on there without getting extended lugs. That is it though. IF you want to use two 1/4" spacers you will have to get extended studs. Losing a wheel at any speed is not fun and could damage a lot of your car. Your car looks pretty good to me. What is the offset on those wheels?

Thanks....Not too sure of the offset....I was gonna get the hubcentric wheelspacers though....The ones that have their own studs in them....

Dont get me wrong, Im happy with my cars looks 4 now, but it just bothers me when I look at how the wheels in front have the illusion that they stick out more than the back....

Those type of spacers I would stay away from. They are similar to adapters when you bolt the thing to the hub and stock studs. Then the new studs are casted into that. The problem is that they are aluminum and the studs are steel...I have had customers come in with cars where the wheels have fallen off because that thing came apart on them, and ruined their brakes, fenders, bumpers....etc....or you could crash your car.

Most offests on 17X9's is 24mm....and those of 17X10.5's is 27mm. The rears will sit in toward the quarter panel (wheel well) more. But we are only talking 3mm....there are 25.4mm in 1 inch. Try one 1/4" spacer on each side. They are cheap at Murrays and that might surprise you.

Your welcome...but like I said there wasn't much thread left when my buddy and I tried 1/2" on his 97 Cobra...so we just used the 1/4's. He didn't want to go through the extended lug stuff.....:flag:

i dont have a problem switching to longer studs. if I wanna go with a 1/2 inch spacer...

On another note, I was gonna eventually switch to front & rear cobra brakes...If Im not mistaken, i have to use a spacer to run a 15 inch wheel on the rear (for track use) to clear the caliper????
