Hey guys dumb question but what am I doing wrong? I have a street/strip car so I drive to track with stock wheels and switch all four wheels to front skinnies and back drag radials on Centerline autodrags. I have moroso extralong drag studs all the way around 1/2-20 and I have centerline lug nuts with the right pattern 1/2 -20. Everytime I go to track I end up breaking a wheel stud because the lug nut either gets crooked and will not go on or off. I hand thread a few turns and then use a battery powered impact gun to speed things up? I am getting sick of replacing wheel studs and driving home on 3 wheel studs. Do I have to hand thread the whole way? I torgue to 90ft-lbs is that too much? Any suggestions?

clarification

Sometimes I will hand thread the lug nut four or five turns then torque another 10-12 turns no problem then all of a sudden it gets tough and I can no longer spin the lug nut either way and it is stuck. I have no clue what I am doing wrong but everytime I take a wheel on or off the lug nuts don't thread right and I end up breaking the stud. I have triple checked and both are 1/2'' am I mising soemthing? are there are thread types or measurements I need to be aware of. I am using Moroso wheel studs 46185 with centerline lug nuts L5120.
