I am in the process of decreasing my cars weight but the 16 inch waffle wheels are really getting a tad old. How much more do you think cobra r's or 17/8 cobra wheels weigh?

If your really concerned w/ weight just stick w/ the 17' wheels.. there is a performance drop going to 18's b/c of the extra weight.

I don't know how much though..I don't think that it is enough to worry about though!

thanks for the info. guess ill stick with my 19lb waffle whells for now. Trying to get the lowest weight possible on my gt and cobra rims are about 5lbs more. No need having an extra 20lbs of unsprung weight sitting around.

Damn! You beat me to it

And "Droptopsnake01" the Steeda Ultralight 18" Wheels are 5lbs lighter per wheel. So switching to 18s isn't necessarily going to mean the weight increases. But it -IS- a good guess that it will.

In most cases however, you will lose performance because 18" wheels make the tires tighter to the wheels giving you better handling, but you will lose sidewall with 18" wheels, and therefore will lose traction when racing. No biggie though if you dont drag a lot.

My Steeda Ultra-Lite II 17x9 machined finished wheels weigh 24 lbs a piece. 1 lb less than my stock 17x8 Mach wheels.

yeah they gotta be kidding with the ultra lites - more like an ultra waste of money. Anyways, looks like sticking to waffle wheels for me.
