Nope, coil and struts are separate on these cars. When I changed mine I put a jack under the control arm and removed the strut. If you unplug the wheel speed sensor the control arm should drop down enough to get the spring out.

Also, 2" drop and 315's equal cut tire if you're not careful.

How much did you lower your car again?
I remember asking a while back... but I don't remember which thread that was.
I coulda sworn you said 2"

Yep, lowered 2" with 315's and my tires rubbed on any sort of weird angle I went over, and occasional on bumps/potholes. It wasn't too bad, just had to be careful.

Then I got hit from behind while turning, which sent me off road. This is what my tire looked like after that adventure.

It looks like you got the Sumitomo (sp?) tires. They're not as wide as my F1's so that'll help some. You could also roll the fenders, but that will probably crack the paint. Or what I did was trim the lip some, since my body guy decided not to roll the fenders before he painted the car.

I now have M/T drag radials, and I've raised the rear end up so my tires have plenty of clearance now.

Also, my brother has those same tires and a 1" or so drop and he doesn't really have any problems with the tires hitting.

Back in my shop class in High school, there was a kid who completely forgot about the compressor (we were required to use one)... and when he undid the center bolt on the strut, the spring went clear up to the roof, and made a good sized dent.
After seeing that, Im too hesitant to be that cavalier.

Maybe after I toss down a few.... I mean hell, thats what the whole college experience is all about

I love my car too much for that

with the reverse McPherson set up... i think thats what we have... you have to realize it just kinda pops out of place, nothing violent because its not being held on a shock or anything... There is not alot of pressure being stored... with some other cars however like my probe which we used the long arm lug wrench... and laid the strut on its side and shot the mount and spring in to a trash can... went safe and easy...

They're on!
But without the lowering springs for now... The weather has been pretty cold which has postponed the springs to next weekend..
They look awesome.
the only problems thus far is when I turn too fast... the right rear tire rubs the well. So next weekend Im going to roll both the back wells, And just drive slow around turns for now.
The wheel gap kinda annoys me though. Its a little more than I expected.
A 2" lowering should create no problems with the wheel rubbing... they're only 17s and it has plenty of space for a two inch drop. Are you guys sure its going to rub?
I drive like a 900 year old man anyway

The two inch drop will look nice standing still, but its when you hit the bumps that it may be a big problem. I was thinking about cutting my BBK springs to close the tire/fender gap, but I already sometimes bottom out in the rear due to having my battery and sub box in the trunk... Im wondering how my 315s are going to do on those large bumps. My roads suck ass here in Iowa. BTW, your new set up looks awesome so far.

I guess, that what the majority of people are saying.
Although I drive slower than the average person by a long shot. 93octane hasn't been giving me very positive feedback with the MPG
But my car is loud without the heavy foot
so why drive fast?

Roads in Missouri are about the same, Although the state has made some MAJOR improvements with the roads lately.
I was up in Des Moines last summer. Love the place.
My buddy and I drove up there to get him a DD.
Des Moines is like the huge city in the middle of nowhere
