Okay, I've had Cragar S/S's since 1986, and I figure it's time for at least a minor change. I'd still like something pretty and chrome, classic-ish if you will. I like the Torque Thrust line from American. They're cool, but I'm curious if there's something else out there that's good but doesn't get much fanfare. I'd also like to move up to a 16" wheel, so there's that, too.

So, what do the experts think?

Damn... How does a [Founding Member] ask such question without a profile image of the car in question?

I know I have my favorites but they're not good on [every] car.

Poor supply of sizes and brands for 16" tires... Looked into it at one time...

The aluminum version of the Magnum 500 is the fist thing that popped into my head:

Okay, here's what I'm thinking:
Tires: Continental ExtremeContact Sport 2, 225/50 ZR16
Wheels: American Racing VN615 Torq Thrus II, 16x7 5-114.30 #123413

What backspacing and offset do I need to make this one fit best?

Oh, the car in question with the current 15" wheels and tires:

Does anyone know what the maximum wheel/tire size is for an upgrade of 1965 GT that does not require modifications? Currently stock 14" x 5.5" (not certain of these dimensions).
I would like to go up to 17" x 7" rim size. But if that's too much then 15"...possibly Scott Drake alloy reproductions.
