:SNSign: can anyone tell me if before i change my heads and intake if i have to set my timeing back to zero (tdc) ? i know that i have to degree my new cams and i just don't know if it matters seeing how degreeing the cams is resetting to tdc w/the new cams anyway.

You don't have to set the engine to TDC before tearing it down, but if you do, it can make things a little easier on re-assembly. Line it up, mark the chains clearly and you'll know exactly where things go.

yes in order to properly degree a cam you must have the number one cyl on tdc.

TDC will always stay the same... Its when the #1 cyl is at the very top... that will never change... what your are changing when u degree your cams is the centerline of the cams on the intake side in relation to TDC...
