One of my later conversions was a nice '79 Ranchero GT, bought it especially to put in a '92 5.0 HO out of a Mustang. Came out really nice, ran very well, rewarding in view of all the effort. Used the AOD that came with the 5.0, sold the 400 "boat-anchor" and C-4, I think it had.

Guy who showed up to look at the 400, asked why I was selling it; I popped the hood, he stood staring at that big upper intake, and remarked loudly, "What the hell is that thing, a turbo?"

Had a guy try to tell me my Mustang II didn't leave the factory with a V8 and wanted to know how I got it in there.

After two minutes arguing with the guy I said "ya got me, I used a trick pair of Chevy motor mounts" to mess with him. That answer satisfied the idiot.
