Well since im putting a s/c in my car next week ive been thinking i should find a way to keep my hood locked so someone cant steal my s/c somehow. I dont exactly live in a crime free area and i was wondering what most people did in my situation?

I live in an apartment complex so i cant lock it up in a garage.

interestion question. i wonder if i should start to worry about that?

wouldnt be a bad thing to protect the charger and it would also serve double duty and i would not have to install hood pins. the pins have been sittin for 2 years. obviously i dont really want to drill my hood. lol!

Have your VIN etched/stamped into the SC and take a lot of pictures of it. That way your insurance wouldn't have any questions IF the worst case scenario occurs. Then just drive and have fun!!

The only way to do it would be to buy hood pins and in my experience, hood pins are a hassle. After a while the paint on my old hood started to spider web out from under the pins ...

What's the old addage? Locks keep honest people honest.

I highly doubt a hood lock will deter a thief from stealing your S/C. Besides, that's quite a bit of "work" to get it off, no? Why not just steal the whole damn car?

Just get a paging alarm with a hood pin. My appt is in range of my car and if the hood is opened my fob will go off, extremely loud and annoying beeping, which is good I guess. I dunno how far you are from your car, but that seems like the easiest thing to do. I think mine has a little less than a 1/4 mile range because I put the antenna under the dash so I wouldn't have to see it.
