OK guy's my amp gauge started to go down in the red then the car stoped starting. I replaced the batt, batt terminals, positive and negative wires, and
the alternator. But still the gauge is down in the red and moves up only about
1 1/2 lines when reved. The guy at sears auto center put the tester on and told me I need new wireing to the alt, Is ther a company that makes a replacment for that part. My alt has two plugs going to it. Please help me out
on this one guys cuz I cant afford to miss another day of work if the stang
dosent start agein.Any advise and help is very welcome..

You can get a stock ford plug in at autozone. I saw the D shaped connector!

I could find one of the connectors at my local auto parts stores but not the other one (which is the one I need). I noticed in my new catalog that 5.0 resto has both plugs now though.

Check on ebay, you might be able to find some cheap. Here's one route you can go, this wire actually screw into the alternator without using the plugs.

Time for a 3G upgrade...

Here's websites with pictures of the 3G (94 Mustang and later 130 amp alt) installation procedure...

See http://www.geocities.com/smithmonte/Auto/3G_130A_Alternator_Upgrade.htm - all the tech data you could ever want to know
OR
http://www.mustangcentral.net/tech/alternator.html - excellent pictures of installation

See these sites for the right way to do the wiring. Some people will tell you that you can skip the wiring upgrade, but it will catch up with you sooner or later. A fire in the wiring harness is ugly and expensive.

Under no circumstances connect the two 10 gauge black/white wires to the 3G alternator. If the fuse blows in the 4 gauge wire, the two 10 gauge wires will be overloaded to the point of catching fire and burning up the wiring harness.
