Where in the heck does this line go???

For some reason I can not find an answer in my Chilton or Haynes Manual as to where this line goes...

Anyone know for sure where this thing is supposed to go to?

The line starts on the left side. It comes out of the purge solnoid on the charcoal canister, and has about 2 ft of line to it...

Here is a pic of the end of the line...



It has a sprout connector that plugs into one of the coolant temp sensors it looks like, but I dont see anywhere for the actual line to connect to.

Hey, now dont quote me on this as far as the function part. I believe when your motor makes so much vacume it opens the purge solenoid allowing the canister to vent safely into the atmosphere. The line runs behind your alternator behind your distributor and attaches the bottom of the intake manifold on the drivers side. I think there are 3 places sticking out the front underneith. It is kind of a pain to get back on. On my 89 gt I just removed all of the smog equipment and blocked those places off.

It should connect to a connecter on the passenger side right behind your alternator. There is a connecter that is right about at the first injector that you see on the pass side. Hope that helps.

It purges (vacuum) pressure from the gas tank into the upper intake, yes.

yes there is a butt connector right around the distributor area where this hooks in , but it does connect on the drivers side of engine under the plenum to a vacuum port facing forward on the intake if its the stock intake ...

Yes, I had to replace that on my 91' stang. It's right underneath the intake, when you look at it it should be on the left pointing back towards your distributor. It's a pain to put your hand up in there if you have big hands lol. Hope this helps, Good Luck.

I have an aftermarket Cobra Intake on mine, but I will still hunt and see if that port is there.
Any ideas on if there is a difference in the lowers on the Cobra intakes vs stocks?

Yeah seems to happen a lot. You wouldn't beleive the amount of guys that hook a coolant line up to it and then wonder why they are shooting coolant out the tailpipes!
