Where is the thermostat?

My friend down the street has a 1996 Cobra and is experiencing some overheating. He would like to change the thermostat, but we don't know exactly where it is. Can anyone please tell me quick or maybe even post a pic? Thanks!

yes, on the 4vs, i believe thats where it is.

I just talked to him and he said a bolt broke off when he was trying to remove it! I didn't get to see it because it was dark, but it doesn't sound good!

yes 2v on top in front of intake, 4v in the lower radiator hose.

make sure that the fans are coming on. I have seen a 97 and 908 Cobra that had either a bad fan or fan controller.

It actually has it's own housing, which is inline on the hose (the hose is interrupted by the housing). The housing should also have a bypass and degas hose attached to it. Remove the two bolts, and the housing splits in half. Remove t/stat.
