Which bearing retainer?

I'm in the process of converting my 93' lx from an automatic to 5 speed. I found a transmission at a local junkyard in which I pulled out of a '90 2.3l mustang. Anyways I had already ordered a steel bearing retainer from JEGS thinking it would work, needless to say when I took the old bearing retainer off and started to stick the shim and bearing race in the new one it wouldn't fit. Does anyone know where I could get a steel bearing retainer that will work? TIA

Looks like i'll have to get a POS stock replacement one then....

I'd guess most 4 cyclinder tranny's don't have a need for a steel bearing retainer, which might be why you can't find one. Most people who want a stronger tranny probably just get a 5.0 T5 - they are different.

I would ask the 2.3L forum folks or call a place like D&D/Walsh Racing (in Wixom Mi). Good luck.
