What's the difference between all the x-pipes out there. I was on rpmoutlet.com and they have bassani, magnaflow, SLP, and Pypes. Is each one going to sound differently? I am looking to get a high flow catted X pipe so i can pass emissions.

Some of them talk about being a true x crossover, is that important? BTW I have a Borla Cat back so i am looking for something that is going to sound awesome with it on the outside, but not be annoyingly drony on the inside.

most of them are the same. However, if i had to choose i would get the SLP x pipe because it comes with the ability to take on and off the cats.

I have also heard VERY good things about Dr.Gas x pipes

Bassani. It barks. It is loud. A good combo with Borlas. It is a 7 piece kit. Catts can be removed/reinstalled. Comes with straight pipes.

most will say basanni, magnaflow, SLP. just make sure you get a TRUE X and not a crappy one so that you can actually make power not lose it. were in the process of making a sticky on the subject.

Call Bassani. They are customer friendly & will explain what you are getting. Their kits are quality. They fit & will last. Consider mil's whatever mid section you buy.

go with the best priced stainless pipe.

it will not be bassani so I would not bother there. IF you search will will see some cat waranty issues with bassani as well. I think deadlurker has problems you might search that out.

I would look at magnaflow, VRS, slp. VRS is the cheapest o/r pipe but not sure if it is the cheapest catted pipe.

most high flow pipes will set codes so make sure you can still pass emission with the thing is place. you will most likely have to run mils with a catted pipe. I don't have emissions but I would research that a bit.

Holy F, that sounds awesome. Considering you have the same cat back as me, my car should sound exactly the same. That makes my decision, i'll go with the magnaflow. Did yours throw any codes after install or do you have mil elims? Does yours pass emissions inspections if you have them where you live?

the stinger has different muffler. bit more aggresive sounding. stinger with high flow cat is proably about like regular borla with o/r.

I would just get the vrs or magnaflow. which ever you find the best price. look on ebay for the magnaflow.

a quality catted pipe should not throw codes. ive been running my bassani catted X for over a year, no CELs or any issue whatsoever. Perhaps a piece of trash pipe like the BBK X will throw codes, but I would hope hes not considering that piece if he wants a good sounding exhaust setup.

some get lucky some don't from what I have read. I have read of bassani, magnaflow, etc all thowing codes. so I don't think it has to do with quality.

how does it work with mils. I know hear in the portland area they just plug in and thats it. now with mils on you computer thinks everthing is fine. would you pass? they don't put you on the sniffer.

if you dont get put on the sniffer and you have MIL eliminators, then i would assume that you could pass emissions. your computer is essentially being told that the cats are working fine which is what the shop would be checking for

Thanks man. Even tho you dont have the stinger im sure it will sound about the same. No codes thrown, ive had it on for 6+ months. You need the MIL elims, I got mine from www.steeda.com. Perfect fit no problems. If you have any other questions ill be happy to answer them.

Goodluck,

Mike

What are you talking about. If you get a pipe that has no cats at the rear you definatly need MILs if you dont get them you will obviously throw a code because the car is registering that you have no cats. MILs are definatly a must if your going to mod your midpipe
