Well my car is nearing visual completion, all i need are my saleens and a few other things (besides suspension)...

my one headlight bulb blew as soon as i flicked them on...so now i need new bulbs. these are homo crappy blue ones anyways. what bulbs should i go with? cant be TOOOO much, but not cheap-o's either. Then I need my wheels/tires, and some pieces molded on the top of my grille towers to fix the hood/bumper gap ( yes, i will be running an 03/04 Cobra hood, with no gap ) Also need to get my new antenna, seeing as how my shorty snapped off in the wreck. I'm doing my exhaust hopefully before the end of next week. We're making a custom X pipe using some pipe and my stock midpipe, and running 2 cats instead of 4. Well not really, we might just punch the other one out and put it back on. I have my MagnaPacks and tips ready to go on, I can't wait . I also need to get inserts for the hood scoops because my fiberglass replica hood didn't come with any. So I just need to know what headlight bulbs you guys suggest. Thanks!

You should get some HIDs. Ebay has them for like 150 with shipping and with a ****ty halogen highbeam just for the cops. They last about 10 times longer than normal bulbs and look sick. Some 10,000Ks or 8,000k'swould look really good with your car

the low beams are perfectly normal. They are super bright and nice lookin its just that for highbeams they add some little halogen bulb kind of like a foglight bulb just to show that you have both highs and lows to the cops and that it isnt some "illegal headlight" bull****. for like $20 more you can get telescoping HIDs where the bulb actually tilts like the ones from american muscle

i dont have that kind of money either. i need REGULAR freaking bulbs.

plus on that ebay ad it says..

* 2 x HID Bulbs
* 2 x Ballasts
* 2 x Secure Mounting Brackets
* 2 x Power Cables
* 4 x Zip ties
* All necessary wires and accessories
* Installation Manual (English)

What are ballasts? What are the mounting brackets for? I'm so confused. lol, someone show me pics of how these install. but i need a regular bright WHITE not blue bulb...for now.

for normal bulbs just get some sylvania silverstars I like those the best, they are the brightesest and whitest that i have used. It makes sence to get HIDs though because normal bulbs run around 200-300 hours and hids run around 3000 hours so I think they are worth the extra cost. for the Hids you get the HID bulbs and to run those you need ballasts which are wallet sized boxes that make the kind of power the HID bulbs need because they dont have filaments, they just arc elctricity from electrode to electrode and Those can be mounted pretty much anywhere. its not complicated. I can take some picutures later but im at work now till 11pm

i might just wait til' i get the money enough for HID's then..

im hoping its not screwed up wiring that shot the bulb though...but theres another thing, i still have high beam in that bulb, just not low. wtf? and thanks, i already thought about the silverstars. what part number or product number or whatever do i get for the stang?

its 9007 for the bulbs. THey have 2 filaments inside the bulbs 1 for the high beam and 1 for the low beam so either can blow out and the other could still be fine

is it a defective bulb or could it be something in my wiring? because my wiring was all smashed in the wreck the body shop rewired it all. or if it was that both filaments would blow out, right? i just dont wanna get the silverstars and blow it out again..

if it was rewired it should be fine because your low beams see alot more use than the highs so they blow out more often. there could be a short or something. just switch bulbs and try to see if it blows out too before you buy new ones and if it doesnt it should be fine

With HID's you wont be needing high beams. If you can't spend the cash I like Sylvania Silverstars. Its a nice white color and they have some good output. Thats what I was running before the upgrade.
Also, I hear the luminics bulbs are good too. You can get em on just about any mustang mod site.

Any local pep boys or discount should carry them. If they have the matching fogs I would grab those too so everything is in sync.

BTW: Here is a link to my thread showing the HID install with tons of pics. Install pics at top, HIDs in action torwards the bottom. http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=705503

HID's on a Mustang are illegal anyway. SO having a crappy high beam isn't going to make the cops say "Oh well he has a high beam i'll let him go". He can still get ticketed for having the HID's in the first place.

Ignoring HID's, there really isn't much you can do for bulbs.

All the blue bulbs suck ass. It's just how the human eye sees light. The eye cannot see blue very well, so everyone going crazy with blue lights thinking they are brighter is just making it harder to see.

I've tried different bulbs, My pick for the best were the Nokya 5000K 80/100 W bulbs were white and noticable brighter, but the higher wattage bulbs can burn up the headlight housing and/or harness.

To be honest, best headlight for actually being able to see that i've run has been the Sylvannia Silverstar. I keep taking them out to try some ricer blue light but they always end up back in my headlights
