I am running the TFS1 cam with 1.7rr's, Typhoon with 70mm TB, 76mm C&L MAF and 24# injectors. Advance it 4 degrees, that is what Mike recommends. I also run BBK LT's with an O/R X-Pipe. A bigger cam doesn't necessarily mean better in this case. I went with what Mike recommended and I love it.
I have never dyno'd my car and have never taken it to the track. The entire engine is new (306) minus the block, so there so many changes at once. My engine builder cleaned the Typhoon up, so it worked out perfect. I love the SOTP feel. I just wanted a good clean, reliable engine that made decent power. I achieved my goals when I built it. Thanks!
Like Stan22, I'm not a racer..my car is meant for fun on the street with a good clean look under the hood (though not quite the calibre of his..it runs GREAT and looks the part too). The Typhoon intake will yeild nice gains with the addition good supporting components..with stock components on the car the intake will not show you much gain, and may soften up the bottom end a bit for top end gain. I don't really think a swap to any other intake would show me any SOTP increase with my combination..though other intakes may make a little better numbers in place, it's not a concearn for me. Anyway, the intake would work quite well with the components you listed as additions, the car will run great.
