Does anyone one know which fuel is best for mustangs? I heard Amoco was, but i dont know for sure.
With gas prices at what they are today, I am tempted to go to off brand stations. Does it really matter??

I've been using marathon and see no difference. I've also used Wal-Mart gas with no problems.

Look in this forum for which gas station to you use post. Most of what your looking for is already there and its like a 3 page long thread. That should help you. I use shell and Sunoco most of the time.

gas differences...

okay, here it is. i am the guy that fixes the problems with the gas pumps and computer systems in these stations that you are using. when you bitch about it not reading yor credit card, not pumping as fast as you think it should,it didnt print my receipt,blah,blah,blah,etc... . anyway, it works like this, your gas you are buying except for amoco and exxon/mobil are almost the same. i say this because your other brands are all loaded on the tankers at the same refinery and the additive for that oil company is added. exxon/mobil gas is delivered on barges and amoco gas is received via pipeline. and yes the amoco gold(white/clear gas) is different. this is the way it works in my part of the country. but i know for a fact that this is the majority around the country. my advice is to buy from a newer station that keeps upwith their maintenance(filters, calibration). just because the station looks good doesnt mean that their tanks arent old and full of trash and water. your corporate owned stores have better management issues with these sort of probs.

I doubt the brand of gasoline really bears any significant difference, though the pessimistic side of me says 'avoid arco'.

stay away from Arco (BP) AM/PM on the west coast. they have lots of water, dirt, and scale in their fuel from the continual use of 10% ethanol blending.

however, if want to get a gut ache.....look to get drunk while driving, need a gun, or marriage licence stop in at their AM/PM convienance store. it's like their president use to say.......we have the lowest quality autos and client base use our products, so why give them anything other than the lowest quality products?
