Which Mass air sensor?

i have a 80mm c&l from my 1996 when i had it. i just checked today to see if the sensor would fit on it and it does! i'm going to try it out on my car and see what happens. i'm just mentioning this because it may be an option if it works ...

I just went through the whole 'replacing the MAF' thing. I got mine from Pro-M. Originally I was gonna go with the 75mm MAF with the flange to mate up to my CAI. Luckily, i got a call from the guys at Pro-M telling me I would not be pleased with it. Using the CAI 90* elbow with the Pro-M sensors, it messes them all up because of the turbulance in the air tube. They set me up with the 80mm MAF with the filter attached to the front of it. It sits right in front of the large opening in our fenders to suck the fender air. I gotta tell you ... thank GOD they set me up with this sensor!! It rocks! Seat of the pants feel is great ... maybe 20 HP. Really made a difference in how it drives. VERY smooth and drivability improved too. Lost a lot of that sucking whistling sound too. Oh well ... thought I'd share.

I have a Pro-M chrome 75mm Bullet with my Ebay (same as BBK) CAI and it has worked very nicely.

I've heard nothing but good things about Pro-M's 80mm meter. Its plastic so you can get it cheaper, and it works good.

I currently have a C&L 76 MM but want to switch to a Pro-M 80MM for a supercharged application. I hear that Pro-M works alot better on blown cars then C&L does. Mine runs fine w/ the C&L but I can prob get more power out of the Pro-M plus there going for alot cheaper then they were awhile ago.

I will get a pic or two tomorrow!! It's a very easy set-up. If you already have the CAI kit - all you do is remove the stock MAF, the 90* elbow and the filter that went in the fender. That silicone band that goes on the snout of the stock MAF and the tube that goes to the TB stays. I fab'd up a little bracket using some steel and welded up some braces. It's VERY sturdy and fits perfectly! The plastic 80mm Pro-M uses that silicone band on the snout and slips right back onto the tube that goes to the TB. A LOT straighter of a shot of air. Some people (me included) said that sucking the hotter engine air would rob HP ... well ... I am a reformed man! This thing changed how my car drives. Maybe mine was going bad - I dunno. I will download some pics tomorrow for ya. I'll get some of the bracket so you can copy it if ya want. I think they have them to buy if you don't want to go through the trouble.

I didnt have time to remove the Pro-M to show the mount better, hopefully you get the idea. Let me know if ya need any other shots, or want to see the mount better. that looks like my cai, all the way down to the light blue rubber connectors! but yours is cleaner ... and mine has a rip in the one on the right where the black tape is ...

It was like $239. Only a couple bucks more than the 75mm w/ flange!

Nope ... never been to a track. I have no idea what it could do. It's no rocket ship, but goes pretty well.
