How about some opinions on which Cobra to look into more. I'm leaning towards the 01's but the 99's are more in my price range. What would you pay for a 99 with lets say 20,000K or less miles on it. What are some pro's & Cons from you guys with experience. Thank's.

I would suggest a search, as there have been a handful of prior 99 Vs 01 threads...

As far as current pricing goes, you can look into www.nada.com or www.kbb.com to get a ballpark figure, but a '99 (coupe or 'vert?) will probabaly go for anywhere in the $14K to $19 range depending on exact mileage/condition/mods, etc, etc.. g'luck.

Basically the difference is the 01 has more supportive factory seats, polished wheels and a 6 disk in-dash CD changer as opposed to a single CD player. The 99 has a T-45 tranny and the 01 Cobra has a TR-3650. The rest is just subtle cosmetic differences.

The '01 is worth it just for the seats alone.

They are pretty much the same cars. I'd find the best deal, which will more than likely be the '99. Don't pay 4-5K more for the '01 just for the seats and CD player, which is pretty much the difference between the two. You could probably find the '01 seats and an aftermarket system for about 1K if you opted for the '99 and you'd still have money for mods. Good luck with whichever you decide. My '99 is Electric Green and I get compliments all the time on the color, which is somewhat rare for Cobras.

I dont have any complaints about my 99. But the 01 does have nice seats and I like the cobra on the rear bumper other than that I would probably save the money and get a 99 and just get some different seats and the 01 or 03 rear bumper.

I thought I saw that the 01 was the least produced DOHC 4.6l?

Anyways I went with a silver 01. Love it. Some mods planned but I am broke right now after putting plates and paying taxes.

It had 23,xxx miles and I paid 20,100 for it out of PA.

It already had a few nice things done, KB front and rear shock and strut bars, Steeda springs, 00 cobra R bilsteins, 03 cobra #4 support brace, and full length KB subs.

From what I remember, the 2001 was the least produced 4.6L Cobras.

I actually just found a dealer selling an 03 Mach for $23,900 its got 800 miles on it. I,m gonna go see it tomorrow, see what kind of deals we can work out with my mighty rescue Ranger as a trade in and maby $1,000.00 down. Wish me luck.
