All rows are not created equal. Alumunum rads have an inch or wider "rows". Stock type 4 row rads are about the same tickness as a 2 row aluminum. I say aluminum. Lighter and better heat transfer.
Aluminum all the way. My old 4 row couldnt cool a beer, let alone an engine. I switched to a Summit brand aluminum (Northern) and its been cool runnings ever since.
oddly enough, my stock 2 row is holding up in this houston weather, but i dont wanna trust it when im off at college, so i think i'll get an aluminum one. thanks guys
I put one of those in recently, but I'm having some trouble with that -- where did you mount the thermostat? In the radiator or in the cylinder head/block? The fans aren't coming on soon enough, and I think it has something to do with where I mounted the thermostat - on the inbound side of the radiator.
