which roller rocker arm?

I'm trying to decide betweew a set of edelbrock heads that uses the pedestal rockers or the ones that use the stud mount rockers. I really don't know too much about rocker, can someone explain the difference. I know the stud mount rockers use studs and the pedestal rockers use bolts, but that about all I know. Whats all the pros/cons of each type of rocker? Which one would be better for a daily driver that sees the dragstrip 2-3 times a year.

Stud mount all the way!!!!!!!! Pedestal mount is for stock type rockers and they suck. Quality aftermarket pedestal rockers are few and far between. The Crane/Cobra 1.7:1 rockers are marginal at best becasus the pedestal mounts are powdered metal and they crack. 2 seperate mounts have cracked in my car (and yes I did torque them down correctly). I'll never buy them again.

Steeda makes high quality shaft mount rockers for the pedestal heads. They're like $350 a set. Racing class rules not withstanding almost every engine builder would opt for the stud mount setup. They are better.

Stud mount is more stable and stronger at higher rpm's and lift's and the required spring pressures to run them.

cool thanks for the reply. Looks like I'll be getting the stud mount. Got any suggestions on which brand rocker to go with?

Depends on what you want to spend. I've been looking at different options for a budget 5.0 build and I've narrowed it down to basically one option I think is the best overall value.
