I'm ordering an Accufab tb/plenum tomorrow morning and not sure which one to get. I was going to get the 75mm, but when I went to order the site says it's for highly modified GTs. Now I know I'm not highly modified, but I'm not sure what is. I do plan to keep building this car up. So I was wondering whether I should get the 75 mm now, or stick with the 70 mm. I'd rather not have to upgrade later when I could just spend and extra $10. for it now, but I also don't want to do an upgrade that will hurt performance.
Other changes being done at the same time are a mac o/r h pipe (going on tomorrow) and I am getting an SCT xcal2 at the same time as the t/b with a tune for the mods.
Any help appreciated...

you are fine with the 75mm...it definitely beats having to re-spend the money, and it won't hurt performance, esp with an xcal tune

Thank you. Didn't know I was getting it until today, so I didn't really have much time to look into it. Now I know what I'm doing next Monday

yep 75 won't hurt, and you'll be ready for more airflow later on.

No real performance gains between 70 and 75 on slight mod motors. I got 70 because I didn't care but it's your choice. More mods = needs more air so I'd get the 75 if you plan on going bigger

From what ive read 75mm is a great bolt-on, BUT you will run a hair leaner without a tune. With a tune it makes lik 3-5 more hp than the 70mm. Not a lean situation where you have to even worry. Plus when i took off my stock 2000 gt upper plenum the opening for the TB was like 72-73mm.

Can't - being a girl, I gotta do what the husband approves alot of the time, and this is what he was approving last night after beer #8 and a couple of shots . I'll take what I can get. Gonna beg for gears for my b-day in Dec cause he made me promise not to buy any more parts for a year.

shouldnt waste your money on a tb unless you have a power adder. not really enough gains to justify.

like blackfang said, would be happier with gears.

Not true at all, the improved throttle response is definately worth the cost + 10 minute install.

for an automatic, the improved throttle response is actually kinda worth it if you got the cash burning a hole in your pocket, but on a 5-speed I would definately get something else first.

I would get the 75 mm. I figure the mods you have the more power you should make. Every little bit helps

I wish I had gone with a 75mm, but who knew at that time that I would
go with a SC later. I think I agree if it's a choice of 70 or 75 go with
the 75 so you don't have to pay more to move up later. But gears
would be your best bet. I loved it when I installed mine.

I wish I had a girlfriend who liked cars, but then I wish I had a girlfriend.

75mm TB will work, but it's still a waste of money.

I see you have no gears

I rather have something that can net me .4 seconds off my ET than something that might(on a good day) net .1 off my ET.

Gears are the best bang for the buck on these cars and put a smile on your face the moment they put you in the seat when you crack the throttle.

After reading Blackfang's gears post, I did go about pricing them. Was already pretty sure it would cost more, but hadn't called my shop for install price yet, and it was over budget. He told me $300 to put them in, and I was feeling pretty lucky that he agreed to the tb, since I just got the other parts. The birthday is coming, and no date rape pill needed, just lots of alcohol

No you don't, she would cost you way too much money.
Jewelry and perfume = cheaper than modding a mustang
But modding a mustang = lots more fun than jewelry and perfume.
