Which tire size and brand? 17 X 10.5

What size and brand of tires should I use on my 17 X 10.5 "s I see where BFGoodrich makes some TA Drag radials for about 150 a piece? With great reviews except on wet pavement and tire wear. I know of people running 315/35-17. Would that be advisable..

What should i run on the front 9"?

I don't run the car in the winter so i don't need to worry about snow traction. And i want some good 60's at the track. At least 1.7's.

315/35-17 rear and 275/40-17 front. dunno what brands though

what about 245/45-17 for the front

thats going to be kinda narrow for a 9" rim

I have 245/45/17's right now on my 9 inch wide Mach 1's... They work just fine but they could be just a hair wider...

I've got 245's on the front of mine w/ 17 x 9 cobra R's, I wouldn't go over a 255. I'm pretty sure a 275 on my car would stick out and rub the fender. Car is lowered though.

EDIT: if you go with BFG drag radial, EXPECT them to wear out QUICK. I ran a set of 275/40/17's DR's, and depending on how many burnouts you do, you're talking 2000-7000 miles. I think the Nitto's last a bit longer.

I just ordered some 315/35/17's nitto 555R's. Heck the tires were more expencive then the rims... I hope to make high/mid 11's on these...

Now if i can find a set of tires for the front for cheap

my 245 nittos fit my 9"wide cobra rims just fine, if you convert the mm's to inches its like 9 & 1/2

My Nitto's are nice and where a good price. Do a search on Nitto and see what you think. I have heard non sticky stories about BFG's on the ever day drives.

Yeah i did a search on the 555R's and the BFG's... That is what made me decide to pay the extra 25 dollar a tire for the Nitto's. I got the Nitto's for 185 a peice shipped...

I figure even if they don't last but a year or so its not all that expensive to replace... But hopefully they last longer then that... I don't think i put but 5000 miles on my car a year...

thats exactly where i got mine from... They beat all other prices i could find on the Nitto's
