Just looking for some info on this? Pro's and con's sort of things. We are either doin a supercharged CHP forged shortblock 408 or 427 in the '89 this winter, well right after Christmas. The reason I ask is that I always here 408 and very rarely 427. So any input about the 2 engines would be appreciated.

Yea, I have personally only seen 1 427 car down here.. A buddy of mine has a NASTY 408 though his car runs 9's and Its all motor, its a serious motor. But a little less in the motor with a turbo or blower would be more fun in a weekend, street car.

We've had both,go with the 427,especially if your staying street. If you can afford an aftermarket block,go with a large bore 427 (4" X 4.125") with the 408 stroke, then the motors have almost the same RPM potential (currently what were running and spinning 8K rpm's).

:nice: Yes more stuff like that. We want a 10 second weekend street monster that will see the track on occasion. Money isn't much of an issue. Although we do have a budget. But, we also have all the components off of the 302 based set-up that will see ebay probably in the next week or so.

The suspension and cage are already there from the previous set-up. So there are no worries there. Staying with a manual tranny, we are thinking TKO 600. Does that sound good to you guys? Or should we be looking at something else?

I know you guys like pics so I'll try to get some up tomorrow as well as in progress ones.
