i bought some intake tube off ebay real cheap, nice piece for only 24 bucks. but anyway, i put it on and drove it later, and i hear an airy-whining sound, just that of a turbocharger spooling up. i have that tube and an open filter under the hood. has anyone else had this sound before? i just wanna make sure it's not a bearing, dont think it is though. this sound seems to vary more with throttle response than engine rpm

I had a MAC cold air on my old 96 V6 and it used to make a whistling sound...mostly at low throttle. I asked my mech guy and he said that it was normal and not to worry about it. It did get kind of annoying but i lived with it. I wouldnt really call it a whinny sound tho

my intake does the same thing. Its pretty much any rpm.... but not WOT. It seems. Typically up hill and such that I've noticed.

It is probably the filter or the rubber fittings. Try move them around and clamp them down harder. If that doesnt work, tell people you have a little turbo

hehe, i tried that. the clamps are done tight. i kinda jury-rigged the filter so it'll work with no airbox. maybe i'll recheck that, even though it didnt make the sound before
