hey guys i have a buddy of mine who is a mechanic and owns an 90 gt.After taking just the throttle body off and putting it back on there was white smoke coming from the exhaust. Sounds like coolant in the system, so after taking the whole top end of the moter off and putting brand new gaskets and seals everywhere there is still white smoke coming from the exhaust. now just from taking the throttle body off then putting it back on,how is coolant being burned up in the engine?

The EGR spacer uses water to cool it. If it develops a leak due to bad gaskets or a crack in the metal, it will seep water into the intake. Small cracks or corroded and porous places in the metal could be hard to see.

this was the problem on my 93 Stang. I ended up taking a soft metal, lead to make a metal gasket on the intake side. I also took a file to remove any pits and to also to true up the spacer. No leaks now and its been this way for 6 years. I also installed stainless studs and nuts to ensure that I would not go through the rusted on spacer syndrome.
