Who does their own taxes?

*About my bike* Yeah I bought it this way, I like the way it looks though.

economic stimulus check. They upped the refunds or some crap hoping we'd dump the money into the economy.

My neighbor got back 18k!!!!

The econ stimulus checks are totally separate from your normal tax refunds and the most a person can get is $600 ($1200 for married couples) plus $300 per qualifying child.

If he got $18K, hes talking about taxes, the econ stimulus checks have not gone out yet and won't be anything to get too excited over.

I'm pretty excited over $600 for doing nothing
plus I get mine next month

The best thing about doing your own taxes is that you educate yourself in the process, and knowing what is going on could come in handy someday. Besides, taxes aren't that hard to do anyways, all you gotta do is sit down and read the stuff and fill in boxes.
I agree. My wife and I started doing our own taxes a few years ago. The woman who did our family's taxes for years passed away and we didn't want to go to someone new. I'm glad we decided to take a crack at it on our own. It's gets easier and more familiar every year. The part I hate most is getting the receipts together. Every year we say we'll keep them better organized and every year they're scattered all over the place. :rlaugh:

I just finished filing mine a few hours ago. Nothing like a CPA waiting until the last minute, but I usually wait and file an extension like Ducati. But since I'm getting more than a couple hundred back this year, and the stimulus check ($2,400 for me!) I figured I better file it "early". LOL!
