Ok heres the deal. I ordered a set of chrome Cobra R 18 x 9.5 wheels with 275/35/18 tires last week.

Now i have had some people tell me that these are going to rub in the front....I swear I have seen others on here with this same combo, but I want to know if they have had any problems.

Please if you have this combo (or something like it) please speak up.

Thanks

James

They will not rub...I have the car lowered 1.5 inches and get NO rubbing. The backspacing on these Cobra R wheels pushes the wheel out slightly. Just enough so you will not get any rubbing.

Just an FYI...the biggest thing you will notice when driving is that the car will want to follow the groves in the road. You'll get use to it. :nice:

What everyone has said is true. However, if you can still change your order, I would suggest considering 265's on the front and 285's or 295's on the back. The narrower tire in the front will help with road walking and if you're gonna stagger tire sizes, you might as well put the widest tire on the back that you can! That's my plan when I get around to replacing tires.

I have a 265/35 on the front and 275/35's on the back...the differnce is nothing. If you want the tires to last longer, go with the 275's all around.

I now plan on ditching the 275 Yohohama's on the back an going with 295/35 BFG DR's....I'll hang on to the 275's, and when the 265's wear out on the front I'll have a set of basically brand new 275's waiting.

If you are going to mix and match sizes, go 265/35 fronts and 295/35's rear.

99SVTAddict hit it on the head. I'd also recommend you go 275s all around so you can rotate your tires which should make the tires last a little longer. I have no rubbing issues at all with 275/35/ZR18 tires. But if you are going to mix&match, I'd also go 295s in the rear.
